Our Beautiful boat, KLM “Valentina 01” and “Valentina 02“, leaves daily at 7.15 am from the harbour, and therefore our meeting point is at 7.00 am at the dive center. the dive sites at Komodo National Park are about 1.5 hour ride away, we return to the dive center around 4.30 pm to 5.00 pm. for a more safe, relaxed and personal experience we limit our dive groups to a maximum of 4 divers. we also change the dive sites on a daily basis so you will be able to explore different spots if you do multiple days diving with us.
Fun Dives Package (for certified divers) is IDR. 2.600.000 per person for either 3 dives or 2 dives plus Dragon Trekking at Rinca Island.
Price includes full equipment rental and a professionally certified dive guide, light breakfast, also freshly cooked lunch, snack, beverage on board (water, coffee, tea) and the boat trip itself to Komodo National Park.
Price exclude Komodo National Park fee : IDR 275.000 / Day on Mondays to Saturdays and IDR 350.000 / Day on Sundays and Public Holidays. While for trekking at Rinca, the additional ticket is IDR 115.000. It is payable to our dive center, who will purchase the ticket for you, keeping you at ease on the diving day.
If you haven’t been diving in a while (over 6 months to a year), we strongly suggest signing up for a Scuba Refresher. A quick theory review and session before the dive can help you find your muscle memory and become comfortable once again with some previously learned diving skills. The whole experience takes about 30 minutes, after which you will find yourself far more relaxed and conservative with your air supply on your subsequent, included fun dive. Scuba Refresher costs IDR 500.000 additional to your fun dive fee and it includes your skill session at the ocean.

How is the water temperature in Komodo? Generally, temperatures in Komodo area ranges from 26 to 28 degree Celsius. A 3mm wetsuit is generally sufficient and rental is already included in the diving package. |
I heard that the current in Komodo National Park is strong, and I am a beginner (Open Water Diver with 4 logs). Will I be able to dive there? It is possible to dive in several dive spots that is calmer than the other dive sites such as Siaba Besar (Turtle Town) and Sebayur to start with. However it will be more comfortable if you are an Advanced Diver as you will have more options in terms of the dive site selection. |

Health and Safety
Do I need to have diving insurance? Diving is a relatively safe sport but it does have certain risks associated with it and sometimes scuba diving related accidents are not included in standard health or life insurance policy. Having a diving insurance is not mandatory but it can definitely give you a piece of mind knowing that you are well covered. My ear is hurting or I have a history of sinus problems. Can I dive? To ensure your safety, we will require you to get it examined. You can dive only if the doctor can provide a clearance document stating that you are in fact fit to dive. |
What safety equipments are available? We have first aid kit, fire extinguisher, and pure oxygen (to relieve decompression sickness symptoms) onboard. Hyperbaric Chamber is available in nearby Siloam Hospital Labuan Bajo (<10 minutes from the harbour) for DCS treatment. |
Activities
Do I need to be able to swim to join the diving program? To join the courses and the try scuba program, you need to be able to prove that you know how to swim and that you’re comfortable in the water. You do not necessarily have to be a good swimmer! |
I have not been diving for awhile, can I join your dive trip? If you haven’t dived in the last 12 months, we will require you to take a quick refresher course to review the skills. This can be done during the first dive of your fun dive trip and generally take around 20-30 minutes. If you haven’t dived in the last 5 years, we will require you to take a Scuba Review course. There are more skills to be reviewed, hence this usually takes the whole first dive. |
My friend wants to join but cannot dive. What are the activity options for him/her? We offer a few activities that might be suitable for non-divers accompanying at least one diver, the options are:

Do you provide Nitrox tanks? Yes we do provide nitrox tanks with extra charge of IDR 150.000 per tank |
Do you offer Nitrox specialty course? We offer Nitrox specialty course combining with 2 dives diving with Enriched Air Nitrox itself. Normally you would like to add this specialty to increase your bottom time and safety. During this course you will study some theory, take an exam, learn how to analyse and measure the Oxygen content of your tank and then go on 2 great dives using Nitrox. |
What kind of valve do you use? Our tanks commonly use Yoke valve. But if you have a DIN regulator, we can help provide DIN tanks accordingly. |
I’m a certified solo diver, can I join your diving trip? We at Big Komodo Tour would like to ensure safety of all our guests so although you have the certification for solo diving, we require all guests to stick to a group led by our guide who has more extensive experience and knowledge of Komodo dive sites |
